Early on Monday morning, Flagler County Sheriffโs Office (FCSO) deputies arrested two men in the middle of what appeared to be a drug deal in the southside of Bunnell, Florida.
Around midnight, FCSO deputies were conducting surveillance when they observed two subjects conducting a hand-to-hand drug transaction along South Anderson St.
As deputies approached the pair, one of the men grabbed his backpack and fled from law enforcement. While pursuing the suspect, later identified as 56-year-old Fredrick Gilyard, Deputy Kusek deployed his taser and caught Gilyard. Gilyard was then arrested for Possession of Cathinones, Tampering with Evidence, and Resisting Arrest Without Violence.
The other male, identified as Eddie London, 50, did not flee from law enforcement. While providing his identification, deputies observed drug paraphernalia in plain view inside Londonโs bag. After conducting a probable cause search, London was arrested for Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
โThere is zero room for poison peddlers or their customers in Flagler County,โ said Sheriff Rick Staly. โThese two thought they could just buy and sell drugs in plain sight, but our watchful deputies were ready to catch them red-handed. The only room available for these poison peddlers is at the Green Roof Inn.โ
Gilyard is being held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility (SPHIDF) on $5,500 bond.
London is being held at the SPHIDF on $3,000 bond.
