Following a deadly drive-by shooting, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is searching for suspects and asking for assistance from the public.

According to JSO, one man was killed and another was wounded. The shooting was reported around 5 p.m. Monday. The victims were discovered when deputies officers arrived at the scene at the corner of Herlong Rd and Fouraker Rd, just west of I-295 on the city’s Westside. The two victims were transported the hospital by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue personnel. One of the men died at the hospital. JFRD said the other victim had serious injuries.

Detectives said the initial investigation revealed a dark-colored sedan sped through the parking lot, and a passenger shot multiple rounds at the group of people in the parking lot.

The circumstances leading to the incident and the relationship between the two victims are unknown.
