Driver Arrested After Hitting 155 MPH on I-4 in Altamonte Springs, Troopers Say

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — A 20-year-old man was arrested early Sunday after Florida Highway Patrol troopers said he was caught driving 155 miles per hour on Interstate 4 in Altamonte Springs.

According to FHP, troopers were conducting stationary radar speed enforcement around 1 a.m. when they clocked a white Dodge Challenger speeding nearly 100 miles per hour over the posted 60 mph limit.

The driver, identified as Octavius Hunt, told troopers he believed he was only traveling 80 mph, according to the arrest report.

Hunt was taken into custody at the scene and charged with violating Florida’s street racing law. Troopers said his vehicle was impounded for 30 days. Three passengers were reportedly inside the vehicle at the time.

“Putting lives at risk to impress others is dangerous and criminal,” FHP said in a post on X.
