Florida Woman Accused of Causing Thousands in Damage at Two Airbnb Properties in Pensacola
A Pensacola woman has been arrested after allegedly causing thousands of dollars in damage to two Airbnb rental properties, according to the Pensacola Police Department.
An Airbnb owner filed a criminal mischief complaint on March 15 after discovering significant damage inside one of her rental units. According to police, the owner later located a video posted on an adult content website that allegedly showed a woman urinating inside the property and damaging items.
The owner documented the condition of the unit with photographs and reported a strong odor of urine throughout the residence. Authorities say multiple items were damaged beyond repair, including an antique Crown Royal chair, rug, typewriter, dining room chairs, coffee maker, bed, television, record player, toaster, and electric fireplace. The total damage for that property was estimated at $3,980.
Police arrested the suspect, identified as Nicolette Keough, and charged her with criminal mischief.
According to the arrest report, similar damage was also discovered at a second Airbnb owned by the same individual on the same street. Items allegedly damaged in that unit included a vase, rug, accent wall, chair, and decorative tiger rug, with additional losses estimated at $1,375.
The investigation remains ongoing.
In a statement to PEOPLE magazine, a spokesperson for Airbnb said: “This kind of behavior has no place on Airbnb. We’ve removed the guest from our platform and are continuing to assist the host with their reimbursement request through our AirCover damage protection for hosts.”
“Property damage incidents during Airbnb stays are rare, and our hosts are backed by our 24/7 global Community Support and AirCover, which are included with every reservation,” the spokesperson added.
