Orlando Area Doctor Arrested After Wife’s Death

The Windermere Police Department arrested Dr. Thomas Wentzell on Thursday morning in connection with the death of his wife, Linda Wentzell.

The investigation began on December 2, when officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of Magnolia Street, Windermere, around 1:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of Mrs. Linda Wentzell.

Authorities reported that the only other person present in the home at that time was her husband, Thomas Wentzell. Based on initial observations, witness statements, and the circumstances at the scene, Windermere police recognized the need for a thorough investigation. As a result, they enlisted the assistance of the Winter Garden Police Department Homicide Team and Forensics Unit.

Detectives found significant inconsistencies in Mr. Wentzell’s account of events during preliminary interviews, which raised further questions about the incident.

On Thursday morning, the Ocoee Police Department responded to a report that Wentzell was expressing suicidal intentions. The caller was Mr. Wentzell himself, who confessed that he “deserved to die” because he had killed his wife.

As a result, Wentzell was taken into custody and transported to the Orange County Jail.
