Florida Man Suspected of Dumping 10,000 Pounds of Trash Along Roads of Monroe County

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement about Benjamin Scott Holroyd, who is suspected of dumping more than 10,000 pounds of trash across the Florida Keys.
A 65-year-old Big Pine Key, Florida man was arrested Friday for leaving more than 10,000 pounds of trash on the side of the road.
Benjamin Scott Holroyd was charged with felony illegal dumping.
The Sheriff’s Office began investigating this month after a large pile of debris and trash was left on 18th Lane. Information leading to Holroyd was found during the subsequent investigation. Holroyd admitted he was the person who first began dumping trash in the area.
Monroe County Solid Waste workers removed a total of 10,380 pounds of garbage and debris from the scene.
